The Life of Adelina Pavsek
PAVSEK, ADELINA D'AMATO Age 86, of State College, PA, died on August 2, 2014. Devoted wife to her husband, Edward J. Pavsek, M.D., Addie is also survived by her children, Mary Carol Pavsek of New Jersey, Marianna P. Crowley and husband, Timothy, of Massachusetts, Edward J. Pavsek, Jr. of Alaska, Adelina M. Welch of Maryland, Michael D. Pavsek of Colorado, Christopher P. Pavsek, and Carolyn Lesjak of British Columbia, and Christina M. Welch and husband, Steve, of Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren; siblings, Elisa Gagliardi of Florida, Marie Cantafio of Pennsylvania, and Irene Kite and husband, James, of Florida; sister-in-law, Lois D'Amato of Pennsylvania. Adelina was born on January 8, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a middle school math teacher before devoting her life to her family. Addie and Ed lived for over 30 years in Pittsburgh, PA, and thereafter lived in Hyannisport, MA, Ponce Inlet, Florida, and ultimately moved to State College, PA. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister. and friend, Addie took great pleasure in watching her family grow and her grandchildren grow up. She will be sorely missed. Services will be private and burial will be in the West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Memorial contributions may be directed to Casa de Amma, a supported apartment community for adults with special needs, at 27231 Calle Arroyo, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, in memory of Adelina D.
