The Life of Mary Bringhurst

Bringhurst, Mary, 91, died on July 27, 2014 at Cathedral Village where she has lived since 1991. She was born on Nov. 11, 1922 to the late John R. Bringhurst, Jr. and the late Catharine Foster King Bringhurst in West Chester, PA. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late Reginald Heber King and the late Mary Catharine Alston Gardner Derickson King. She worked for Bell Telephone Company of PA as a telephone operator, but is better known as the receptionist of the law firm of Morgan, Lewis and Bockius from which she retired in 1984. In retirement she volunteered for many years at the front desk of the Ronald McDonald House.  She is predeceased by her brother John Richardson Bringhurst III and her sister-in-law Genevieve Johnson Bringhurst. She is survived by her niece Ellen Elizabeth Bringhurst Wilson (George), her nephew Andrew Bringhurst (Kimberly), and her great nieces and nephews: Erik Bringhurst Wilson; Gregory John Bringhurst (Elizabeth); and Amanda Catherine Bringhurst (Drew). Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2014 in the Parish Hall of St. Mary’s Church, 630 East Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128.
