The Life of Marshall Beck

Beck, Marshall “Jack”, 90, born in Philadelphia, formerly of Churchville, PA and then West Wildwood, NJ, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA.  He graduated from Penn Charter High School and studied at Washington and Lee University as part of The Wartime Program 1944-45. He served as a Sergeant in General Patton’s Army Corp of Engineers. Marshall worked for Crown, Cork and Seal for 35 years as a tool and die maker.  He and his wife of 58 years were avid ballroom dancers.  Marshall was a member of the Tacony Lodge No. 600 F.& A.M. of  Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his wife Erma C. (nee Floody) and his parents, Charles J. and Mary (nee Gately), and survived by his two sons, Thomas J. (Sharon) of Warrington PA, James J. (Mary Ann) of Churchville, PA and four grandchildren; Jeffrey J. of Kent, CT, Caren Q. of Los Angeles, CA, Rachel C. and Daniel J., of Churchville, PA.  Visitation at 1pm and Funeral Service at 2 pm, Friday, June 6, 2014  at Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
