Obituary of Janet Bowen

Janet L. Bowen (nee Rhodes), a long-time resident of Clifton Heights and Glen Mills, died Thursday June 23, 2016 at St. Martha's Healthcare Center in Downingtown.

Born in Altoona, PA, to parents Walter and Marion (nee Thomas) Rhodes, she was married for 68 years to Harry R. Bowen Sr.

Mrs. Bowen was an excellent seamstress, a wonderful cook, and enjoyed creating keepsake scrapbooks for family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Compassionate and caring, she will be forever missed as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Bowen was a long-time member of the Elam United Methodist Church. In addition to her beloved husband of 68 years, Harry R. Bowen Sr., Janet is survived by her four children: Thomas I. Bowen (Carol) of West Chester, Harry R Bowen Jr. (Kathy) of Garnet Valley, Clay Bowen (Jacqueline) of West Chester, and Gayle Dimeo (Thomas) of West Chester; nine grandchildren: Meredith, Jennifer, Jason, Joshua, Daniel, Courtney, Brian, Stephen, and Riley; and five great grandchildren: Aidan, Noah, Mathew, Kelsey, and Kate.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 10:00 AM at the Elam United Methodist Church Address: 1073 Smithbridge Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Phone: (610) 459-2911

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Janet's name to the American Diabetes Association.
