The Life of Evelyn L. Case Rink

Evelyn Louise (Case) Rink (née Boger) died January 10, 2014, at Bentley Village Care Center in Naples, at age 96. She was a resident of Marco Island from 1974 to 2003, when she moved to Bentley Village. She had moved to Florida from Radnor, PA, where she continued to spend summers.

Daughter of the late Glen A. Boger and Sarah S. Boger of Allentown, PA, she was raised in Bethlehem, PA. Evie was a 1939 graduate of Penn State University and a life-long Nittany Lions fan. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority for over 75 years. She married Charles P. Case, Jr., in 1940, and they had three children: Margaret Case (Jeanne Peters) of Honor, MI; Charles Case (Angela Cerminara) of Hope, ID; and Kathleen Case (Jacques Catudal) of Bryn Mawr, PA.

Her husband, Charles Case, died in 1960.

In Pennsylvania, she worked in real estate, principally with the late Beatrice A. Marshall of Marco Island, and was named a top salesperson of the year and a member of the million-dollar club by the Main Line Board of Realtors. She married F. Glenn Rink of Devon, PA, in 1971; they were members of the Merion Golf Club and the Island Country Club in Marco. Glenn Rink died in 1986.

Evie loved cooking and was noted for her pies, which graced many a church fair; she was an avid golfer and travelled all over the world, but gave up international travel when she turned 90.

A member of the United Church of Marco Island, and the Naples United Church of Christ, she was an active fundraiser who helped start the Collier County Bargain Basket.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her three Case children and her stepson, Allan Rink (Susan) of Pottstown, PA; and by nine grandchildren and step grandchildren: Ben van Steenburgh (Heidi) of Churchville, PA; Jason van Steenburgh (Tammy) of Philadelphia, PA; Heather Case (Tom Guzzo) of Naples; Brian Case (Stephanie) of Birmingham, AL; Sean Jordan-Case (Megan) of Traverse City, MI; Danny Case of San Francisco, CA; Stacy Rink Dedring (Nick) of Beacon, NY; Allison Rink; and Brad Rink. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Sasha, Talya, Leighton, and Rowan van Steenburgh; Jenya Moon; Harper JordanCase; Della Case; and Zouey Dedring.

Interment will be at West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA, with a memorial service in Pennsylvania, to be announced at a later date.
