The Life of Wayne W. Weller

Wayne W. Weller, 88, of Mertztown, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Annabelle J. (Kocher) Weller, whom he married on December 3, 1981. He was predeceased by his first wife, Caroline M. (Fulmer) Weller in 1976. Born in Longswamp Township, Wayne was a son of the late Earl H. Weller, Sr., and Eva (Smith) Weller.

He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, Macungie, and honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Wayne was employed for 33 years by Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown, until his retirement in 1987. He was also a member and Team Captain of the Mack Truck Bowling Team. Wayne enjoyed fishing, throwing horseshoes, and had a love for dogs.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Annabelle, Wayne is survived by his children, Jed H. Weller and Linda L. (Weller), wife of John Kortvely, step-children, Sherry A. (Hertzog), wife of Gary Kratz and Gary G., husband of Linda (Diehl) Hertzog; a sister, Ethel (Weller) Funk; three grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, parents, daughter, Joan Weller, and two brothers, Earl Weller, Jr., and Ernest Weller.

A funeral service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, PA with his Pastor,  Reverend Frank Schaffer officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard. Topton, and The Pennsylvania Military Honor Guard, Annville, will follow in Solomon's Union Cemetery, Macungie. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Always laughing

I’ll always remember you telling jokes and showing off some 6ft tall tomato plants. You always wore suspenders and loved your puzzles.  I remember when you painted your truck blue too!  I’m glad you got to see my wedding and meet my kids.  I don’t think they’ll forget using your cellar doors as a slide! Till we meet again...love you!
