Harold J. Stopp, 84, of Fleetwood, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the loving husband of Mabel M.  (Wessner) Stopp, whom he married on May 23, 1954. Born on November 18, 1933 in Kutztown, Harold was a son of the late Raymond J. and Bertha (Hilbert) Stopp. He was a member of Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, and served his country in the United States Army, having been stationed in Germany. He was employed as a custodian by Kutztown University for 19 years, retiring in 1997.  Prior to that, Harold worked as a laborer for Pinnacle Equipment, Fleetwood, for 19 years. Harold enjoyed going to auctions, public sales, and "tinkering" around his home. He also enjoyed being outdoors, either in his garden, or doing lawn work.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mabel. Harold is survived by his children, Diane S. (Stopp), wife of Rickie Hawkins, Norristown, Patricia M. (Stopp), wife of Oscar Maldonado, Kenhorst, Kenneth J. Stopp, Kutztown; four grandchildren, Carrie Gilmartin, Matthew Hawkins, Angela Stopp and Anthony Maldonado. Harold was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Pauline (Stopp) Strauss.

A funeral service to celebrate Harold's life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Revered Thomas Lang officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
