The Life of Thelma H Bailey

Thelma H. (Bailey) Bailey, 88, formerly of Kutztown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Vernon F. Bailey, who died on December 19, 2010.

Born in Lynnport, Lehigh County, Thelma was a daughter of the late Verdie C. and Helen M. (Bailey) Bailey. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown, and was a 1947 graduate of Slatington High School. Thelma worked as a Teacher’s Aide, beginning her career working at the Hamburg Center, and later working for Fleetwood Area School District and Kutztown Area School District, where she retired in 1991. Thelma was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter #336, Kutztown, and Blue Mountain Chapter #443, Hamburg. She was a former member of the Women’s Club in Kutztown.

Thelma is survived by her three Children, Thomas V. Bailey, Daniel A., husband of Kathy L. (Kline) Bailey and Bonnie L. (Bailey), widow of William A. Yurvati, all of Kutztown; 2 Granddaughters, Erica S. Yurvati and Sarah D. Bailey; 2 Step-Granddaughters, Amy E. Broussard and Carrie P. (Broussard), wife of Gary Lambert; and a Step Great-Granddaughter, Lillian S. Lambert.

A funeral service to celebrate Thelma’s life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Mary Ann Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
