The Life of Marie L Eckhart
Marie L. (Fenstermacher) Eckhart, 58, of Topton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the fiancée of David R. Roth, with whom she resided.
Born in Reading, Marie was a daughter of the late John W. and Grace (Burkert) Fenstermacher. Marie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where she was a former member of the Senior Bell Choir. She was a 1976 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, where she was an active member in her class. Her love for Brandywine Heights and their sports programs was very evident. She was employed by the school district for over 25 years, with the Athletic Department for 21 years; Marie was an avid supporter of all the sporting events throughout the school year. Prior to her time at Brandywine, Marie was employed as a Secretary by East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyons, for several years. She was a member of the former Brandywine Minstrels, performing in many of their yearly shows, and was a dedicated Phillies fan. Above all, Marie loved spending time with her family and friends, and will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to her fiancé Dave, Marie is survived by two Daughters, Dana M. (Eckhart), wife of Daniel C. Wendt, Fleetwood, and Laura D. (Eckhart), wife of Jared H. Farkas, Walnutport; Dave’s children, Angie M. (Roth), wife of Matt G. Weida, Fleetwood, and Andrew D., husband of Vanna J. (Houck) Roth, Blandon; and Grandchildren, Lily G. and Brady J. Wendt, Avery M. and Ethan M. Weida, and Brinley A. Roth. Marie is also survived by her four-legged companion, Chase; a Brother, Alan; and a Sister. She was predeceased by her Parents and a Sister.
A funeral service to celebrate Marie’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 South Home Avenue, Topton, with Reverend Thomas Darr, officiating. Burial will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood (Rockland Twp.). The family will greet guests following the burial in the Lyons Fire Company Banquet Hall, Lyon Station. Please wear burgundy and grey colors as a tribute to Marie's love for Brandywine Heights.
The family requests contributions be made in Marie’s memory to the Marie L. Eckhart Memorial Fund c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 25, Topton, PA 19562-0025, to be used to benefit the Brandywine Heights Athletic Department in the future. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
