The Life of Leroy P Kline

Leroy P. Kline, 88, of Rockland Township, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, where he was admitted from Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Dietrich) Kline. They were married January 28, 1950.

Born in Maidencreek Township, he was a son of the late Alma (Kline) Beissel and step son of the late John Beissel. Mr. Kline honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Army, with service during the Korean War. Leroy was employed by Dana Corporation, Parish Division, Reading, first as a welder, then an inspector for over 35 years until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement from Dana, he worked for 30 years at the former Koch's Orchard, Rockland Township. He also tended his own apple and peach trees on his property. He loved working outdoors and enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his Wife of 66 years, Dorothy; a Daughter, Barbara L. (Kline) Geisler, Shillington; Sons, Barry L. husband of Evelyn M. (Hess) Kline, Fleetwood, Bruce L. husband of Donna (Kieffer) Kline, Mertztown; and Brian L. husband of Lori P. (Hartline) Kline, Fleetwood. Other survivors include Siblings, Myrtle (Beissel) widow of Richard Brown, Ruth (Beissel) widow of Thomas Calhoun, and Dorothy Jane (Beissel) widow of James Raezor, all of Birdsboro; and James, husband of Marilyn (Knoss) Beissel, Mohnton. There are 5 Grandchildren, Randy Kline, Stephanie (Kline) Calvaressi, Samantha (Geisler) Ray, Ryan Kline, Sr., and Renee Kline; there are also 9 Great Grandchildren. Mr. Kline was predeceased by Siblings, John, Arthur, George, Susan and Evelyn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 1:00 PM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn, officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master American Legion Post Honor Guard, Topton, and Pennsylvania Military Honors, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Rockland Township.  Friends may call Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
